All Because the Iraq War... Not!

Look, if you still think that terrorism around the world for the past two years is because of the US overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, you've got a few decades of history to catch up on.

The Anchoress has been kind enough to put together a visual history, starting with the 1993 WTC Bombing (yes, that's right, the WTC was attacked by Islamic terrorists nearly a decade before another group of Islamic terrorists destroyed the towers and killed nearly 3,000 people).

Since she assembled that visual history, more than a few other people have added other terrorist acts that push the start date of the Terror war back even further. We can go back to 1979's Embassy takeover in Tehran, Iran, for which Iran has never been held accountable. It was an act of war that went unanswered. Don't think for one moment that the terrorists didn't realize that they could just achieve their goals because the US would not respond even if provoked in the most overt manners.

But, despite all these terrorist acts, some people cling to the belief that terrorism is due to President Bush invading Iraq.

As if.
