Can't Say It Any Clearer Than That

I do not consent to being blown up
Some yahoos on the far left think that limited searches of people entering the NYC subway system is somehow too far towards a police state even though baggage searches may be the prudent step to improving security. One of these 'enlightened' people even came up with a 'witty' t-shirt that says that they do not consent to being searched.

Well, that person, god-forbid, if caught in a bombing, would quite probably be first in line to grab a lawyer and sue the police, the city, the state, the MTA, and the local dogcatcher for failing to stop the terrorist before they could strike.

These people take no personal responsibility for their actions or care what repercussions may come from their actions.

UPDATE:
The NYPD found a guy carrying a machete on the LIRR last nite.
One man was arrested during Thursday evening rush hour at the Brentwood Long Island Rail Road station after police became suspicious, stopped his van and allegedly found a machete and other weapons. Gilbert Hernandez, 34, had been convicted of possessing a pipe bomb in 1996, police said.
Carrying a machete? That's so 1980s.

UPDATE II:
Heather MacDonald gives her reasons why these random searches are such a waste of time when we know who is most likely to be the terrorists who want to blow stuff up. Here's a hint: they're Muslim fanatics who have pledged to follow Osama bin Laden and his minions into hell - and to kill as many infidels as possible. These are people who try to blend in, to fit in, and to not raise suspicions until it is too late to do anything. Many are here illegally (and that's what undocumented aliens are - we aren't talking about Martians crash landing without a permit) and they have an agenda, which is to infiltrate and wait until the right time to strike.

They did it in 1993. In 1997 they came close to blowing up subways. They succeeded on 9/11. And they've been doing it elsewhere in the world for decades. And they'll continue doing it unless and until we get serious in dealing with the threat without the PC nonsense, which could get a lot of people killed in the name of sensitivity.

UPDATE III: 8/8/05:
Eliminated a broken/bad link with one of the images.
