The Battle For Ground Zero, Part XIX

More names are added to the list of those who don't want politics to overwhelm the Memorial.
Widows, children and other relatives of some 70 city firefighters killed on 9/11 are hitting the Internet in a bid to keep politics far away from the planned Ground Zero memorial.
Among the thousands "signing" an online petition to "take back the memorial" are loved ones of Chief Peter Ganci, the FDNY's highest-ranking uniformed officer, who was directing rescue efforts at the north tower when it collapsed.

Son Christopher Ganci is now training to become a New York firefighter. His sister, Danielle, is due to marry one of New York's Bravest.

"We feel very strongly about this," Kathleen Ganci, the chief's widow, told the Daily News.

Ground Zero is "almost like a religious place," she added.
Unfortunately for the Daily News, they're missing the details from the news of the past few days that The Drawing Center is reconsidering its participation in light of the loud opposition to its presence in the cultural center.

Meanwhile, other cultural groups are backing The Drawing Center's participation at Ground Zero. These groups are the first to complain about censorship, but the issue is government funding of anti-American artwork and an anti-American agenda at the site of the worst terrorist attack in US history that killed nearly 3,000 people, not censorship. The Drawing Center is clear in its agenda - its prior art displays have a strong anti-American bent, harsh criticism of the US, and it is that agenda that does not belong at a site where thousands of US citizens were murdered by a bunch of Islamic terrorists who wouldn't hesitate for one second in blowing up any Americans, including those who hate US policy like those involved in The Drawing Center.

Ask yourself this question: was everyone who was murdered on 9/11 a Bush supporter or a Democrat. If you think that there was a mix of political ideologies at the site, you'd be correct. And that diversity didn't matter one bit to the terrorists who see all Americans as a target.

UPDATE:
Cox and Forkum take up the cause against the IFC and The Drawing Center. Another spot-on cartoon from these guys!
