The Google Backlash Continues

After Google's decision to kowtow to China's demands for limiting results from the search engine in the Chinese version of Google, the blogosphere reaction has been growing. Instapundit has more, as does Pajamas Media.

Quite a few bloggers and outlets are reducing their Google exposure by ceasing to run Google's advertising programs. A boycott has sprung up.

Here's an open letter to Google.

China is the hot tag at Technorati. With good reason. Lots of interesting observations, including those who note that the real ire should be directed at China, not Google or the other companies who are doing business in China (WalMart anyone?). Google is just the latest high profile company to submit to the Chinese demands on censorship.

The difference is that while most of these other companies are dealing with goods, Google's action restricts the free flow of information. Information that the Chinese Communists want to restrict from their citizens.

Now, here's a question - would Google submit to the restrictions from other countries that want to impose their mores and values? Saudi Arabia? Iran? Pakistan? Indonesia?
