Ahmadinejad was quoted by the Mehr news agency as telling reporters that Israel was committing war crimes in Gaza "because it realizes that its end is near and that it will soon be wiped off the face of the earth."Ahmadinejad continues to perpetuate the nonsense that Israel is committing war crimes in Gaza. Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, and Hamas has been fully responsible for everything that has happened there since. Hamas has purposefully cut power to Gaza, caused food shortages (though even that was overblown because there are massive stockpiles of flour and other food items), and instigated Israel's reprisal attacks against terrorist infrastructure in Gaza by plotting infiltration attacks to capture Israelis for ransom and to demand release of hundreds of Palestinian terrorists held in Israeli jails, carrying out bombings, mortar and kassam attacks against Israel, all while stockpiling weapons and equipment for a war with Israel.
The protestors burned American and Israeli flags, and, with Ahmadinejad's arrival, chanted "our government's slogan is death to Israel."
According to the Fars news agency, the demonstrators also held pictures of Gaza residents and waved signs bearing slogans against the cooperation of some Arab leaders with Israel.
Iranian media reported that among the demonstrators were university students, religious college students, engineers, athletes, teachers and military officials.
The Islamic Propagation Organization handed demonstrators signs reading "Israel is committing crimes, America is supporting them," and "The Arab states are cooperating with the criminals and are partly responsible for the spilling of blood Gaza's children's blood".
Hamas has its playbook for propaganda, and it uses it religiously.
Hamas has gotten the media to buy into their claims repeatedly, even though a cursory examination and photographs would show that Gazans aren't suffering from a humanitarian crisis at the hands of Israel, but rather the despotism of Hamas thugs who care nothing for humanitarian concerns for the Palestinians. Indeed, the terrorists see Palestinians only as cannon fodder for their propaganda. The more dead bodies that pile up, the more that can be blamed on Israel, regardless of the circumstances of their deaths.
After all, Hamas and the other terrorists in Gaza don't seem to have problems getting their hands on high explosives - mortars and rockets to fire at Israel on a near daily basis (today kassams and mortars were fired). Hamas has plenty of money to get the weapons, but wont spend it on infrastructure to make sure that the lights stay on, that the sewage systems remain functional, and that the daily needs of the Palestinian people are taken care of. Hamas are a bunch of leeches on the Palestinian people, just as all the terrorist groups are. That includes Fatah, which has managed to ingratiate itself with the world community and Israel despite the fact that they too have failed to renounce terrorism and adhere to the principles of the Oslo Accords and the successive documents (Wye, Gaza/Jericho, etc.) that call for a cessation of propaganda seeking Israel's destruction, renunciation of clauses in the PLO covenant calling for Israel's destruction, and stopping the terrorists from operating in Palestinian controlled territories - which includes most of the West Bank (and many areas have been no-go locations for Israelis since 1993 when the Palestinian Authority assumed control) and Gaza.
Arab states are cooperating with Hamas, not with Israel on this. Hamas continues to indoctrinate another generation to hate Israel and seek its destruction; Iran's Ahmadinejad is doing precisely the same thing. Demonization of Israel is all that many of these countries in the Middle East have. It's an all consuming hatred that subsumes everything else, including a functioning economy and society. It is corrosive and destructive to everything around them.
Iran is simply repeating the Hamas claims, which it is more than happy to do since its goals mesh with Iran's.
UPDATE:
To prove my point once again about Palestinian propaganda. They talk about how they have power shortages and are starving, and yet we repeatedly see that they're more than capable of running carnivals and have plenty of food and candies. That's not the kind of thing you do if you're starving and lack money.
