What Gaza Does Next

So, what will Hamas do next now that Israel has given up trying to cut off the fuel to Gaza? Hamas manufactured a crisis, complete with the photographic fakery, which the media bought hook, line, and sinker. They invaded the sovereign nation of Egypt, and everyone gave it a collective shrug. Don't think that Hamas and other terrorist groups aren't salivating over that failure. Egypt is still struggling to deal with the crisis on its border.

Now, Hamas will have access to the fuel and materials that they can use to resupply and intensify their war with Israel. Nice.

It's funny to hear that the PA claims that they'll assume control of Rafah, considering that the PA can't control anything in Gaza. The only way this is significant is if the PA is code for Hamas. There's no way that Fatah is going to control the border. Of course, the situation is such that the Palestinian terrorists are getting caught roaming in the Sinai (which is part of Egypt).

Egyptian forces have received permission to open fire on Palestinians, but that's really no different than the situation the day before Hamas breached the international border. Those security officers at the border are now equipped with electrified cattle prods. Where's the global outrage over treating the Palestinians as nothing more than cattle? Oh wait, such outrage is reserved for when Israel takes steps to defend itself. When Arabs defend themselves from other Arabs, they get a "get out of media condemnation for free card."

So, what does Israeli PM Olmert do? He's meeting with Abbas. Abbas can't make any concessions to Israel, which means that Israel is the one that will have to make concessions, even as it remains under constant fire from Palestinian terrorists from Gaza and gunmen and rampaging thugs in the West Bank. The Palestinians continue to run hate television, in direct contravention of the Oslo Accords, and yet the diplomats completely ignore this.

Israellycool continues live blogging the situation.

If history is any guide, Hamas will continue to operate freely and with more resources now that the Gaza/Egypt border is broken, and Israel will be at greater risk for terrorist attacks not only from the Gaza/Israel border, but from the exposed Egypt/Israel border because Hamas will be able to infiltrate into Egypt and then into Israel.

UPDATE:
Palestinian journalists admit that Hamas completely and utterly staged the blackouts. Of course, the photographic propaganda continues to float out there, but know that it is nothing but propaganda.
