The Danger of the Liquid Lunch

The liquid lunch has never disappeared. The problem is who exactly is partaking in it. Reporters have found that a bunch of workers at various Ground Zero projects are busy imbibing mass quantities at a couple of bars nearby.

Someone could end up killed because of this - someone wielding heavy machinery while under the influence is a supremely bad idea. That includes the workers, the pedestrians who swarm all around the Ground Zero site, and the tens of thousands of commuters who pass through Ground Zero on a daily basis.

Reporters in the city have done this kind of reporting in the past, and it's a real easy thing to do too. All you have to do is send reporters into the bars nearest to the work sites and see who comes in on a regular basis.

The Department of Buildings, the Port Authority and law enforcement needs to come down hard on the workers, who are putting themselves and those around them in harm's way with their actions.
