The Usual Suspects Make the Usual Statements

This isn't surprising in the slightest. A regime that supports terrorists and provides safe haven for their terror masters thinks that the real obstacle for peace in the region is Israel.

Syria's Bashar Assad says that the real obstacle to peace is Israel. What was he going to say? That Syria's support for Hamas and Hizbullah, along with the Iraqi insurgents was the obstacle to peace? Seriously?

Israel and Syria share a common border along the Golan Heights. It's been relatively peaceful since 1973 when Syria attacked Israel with the intent to destroy Israel once and for all. They came close, nearly throwing Israel out of the Golan before the Israelis regrouped and held on to the Golan. With Israel defending itself against regimes constantly seeking to undermine Israel's existence, there's no chance for peace until those regimes come to grips that Israel will continue to exist.
