Destroying Jewish Heritage, One Site At a Time

The Palestinians are once again engaging in the destruction of antiquities and sites holy to Jews. The latest outrage is the desecration of Joseph's Tomb, which is located in Shechem, which is also known as Nablus in the West Bank.

Palestinian thugs torched the tomb for the second time since 2000, when the area was turned over to Palestinian control.

Adding insult to injury, the Palestinian Authority is claiming that Joseph is actually a Muslim:
In the wake of an attempt by Palestinians to burn down Joseph's Tomb – Judaism's third holiest site – Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah faction issued a statement denying it will help restore the shrine, referring to both the shrine and the biblical patriarch as "Muslim."

"Pay no attention to the rumors that we will work with Israel to restore the burial site of the holy Muslim Joseph," said the statement, issued from Nablus, the biblical city of Shechem. "We are going to guard this holy Muslim site."

Joseph's Tomb is the believed burial place of the son of Jacob who was sold by his brothers into slavery and later became viceroy of Egypt.
In no way, shape, or form was Joseph ever Muslim. This is yet another fiction written from whole cloth by the Palestinians to revise history to suit their needs.

Even still, one has to wonder why Fatah would treat the resting place of one of their honored ancestors with nothing but violence and hatred. Cognitive dissonance is a common trait of the Palestinians, and yet the media doesn't question such blatant lies and distortions.

Carl in Jerusalem has more.

There are other questions to be asked of Fatah, including how and why their thugs desecrated this ancient and holy location and not for the first time. It has been repeatedly vandalized by Palestinians despite assurances to protect the site by the PA since 2000.

It reminds me of earlier incidents at Rachel's Tomb and Palestinian claims that Rachel and the locale were sacred Muslim sites. This is part and parcel of a wholesale revisionist history perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists who seek to undermine the longstanding and indisputable ties of Jews to Israel.
