Ridgewood Eats: Sicilian Sun

The Sicilian Sun is a nice little find on the Ridgewood/Ho-Ho-Kus border. The family atmosphere is punctuated by the loud chattering of tables all around. The fare is basic Italian fare that your mother might make. And it's just as good. This place isn't about the decor, but the food.

Take-out business is quite brisk as people regularly stop in to take out pizza and other specialties. Mrs. Lawhawk and I happened to try the baked ziti and manicotti. Both dishes were well prepared and the tomato sauce was hearty and nicely spiced and the cheese was lightly browned. Portions were plentiful and the seafood offerings chosen by other patrons were quite impressive.

It is worth the drive from the main strip in Ridgewood to check out Sicilian Sun.
