The Battle for Ground Zero, Part 174

Mike Kelly writes about the possibility that there are still more remains left to be recovered in and around Ground Zero. Remains were found in the Deutsche Bank building, even after it was searched in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. And it is still possible that remains may be found in the surrounding areas, including the Fiterman Hall site.

That comes at a time when there's an expose on the inner workings at the Port Authority, a bistate agency that doesn't need to operate in an open fashion because it was established without any such requirements.

On Friday, the Ground Zero cross was removed from the site, and moved three blocks to St. Peter's Church, where it will remain until after the 9/11 Museum/Memorial is built, which should be another 3+ years.

Have you made your donation to the WTC Memorial? If you haven't, you're not alone.

The first structural steel for the Freedom Tower has been received in the US. It was made at a foundry in Luxembourg and has been received at a fabrication yard in Lynchburg, Virginia. They're expected to be delivered to the Ground Zero site by the end of next year.
