The Battle For Ground Zero, Part 152

The Freedom Tower has just gotten committments from a number of federal agencies to lease 600,000 square feet of the 2.6 million square foot office tower. With state agencies expected to lease 500,000 to 600,000 square feet, that would mean that about 40% the tower has lease committments. Gothamist also chimes in.

The Post editorial page sees the changes made to the Freedom Tower this week as welcome, but still wonder if the tower will ever get built with the ongoing questions about financing.

Time Out New York has a list of the top 50 grudges in the City. Ground Zero ranks number three. Behind the Mistake of 1898 (the merger of Brooklyn and Manhattan into New York City) and the great pizza debate.
