Another Indonesian Quake
The death toll is now over 2700 and is expected to rise further. Indonesia sits astride the Ring of Fire, where massive tectonic plates rub against each other, and the stresses in the earth's mantle can lead to volcanoes and earthquakes. A massive quake December 2005 caused a tsunami that killed more than 200,000 people throughout South Asia.
