Taking Lessons From Lost

Cocaine smugglers attempted to bring 242 pounds of cocaine into the US using statues of the Virgin Mary.
Two men suspected of helping smuggle cocaine to New York from Mexico inside statues of the Virgin Mary were arrested on Thursday, U.S. authorities said.

Peter Matheis, 52, and Rafael Serrano, 36, both Mexican nationals, were indicted in New York and Houston respectively on money-laundering and narcotics charges along with six others arrested previously in the United States, the Drug Enforcement Administration said.

Five 3-foot-tall (1-metre) statues of the Virgin Mary, filled with 110 kg (242 pounds) of cocaine were seized in a Brooklyn warehouse as part of the police operation.
These suspects apparently thought they could follow in the footsteps of warlord Mr. Eko who used statues of the Virgin Mary to transport heroin out of Nigeria. And Eko finds God along the way. No doubt that part of the story remains to be written for Matheis and Serrano.
