Yemen has again carried out its revolving door policy regarding terrorists. It has accepted signed pledges by 170 terrorists that they wont go back to jihad.
I suspect we'll be finding out that many of those 170 have indeed gone back to terrorism, and that it once again highlights the folly of treating terrorism as though it's a law enforcement matter and that US national security relies on the least secure overseas law enforcement operation.
Right now, Yemen is on the forefront of the war on terror, and they're busy releasing terrorists who will once again go back to the jihad and the war against the United States. Our national security is threatened because we're to rely upon the word of the Yemeni government that these terrorists wont go back to jihad even though we've seen multiple examples where the Yemeni terrorists have done just that.
Yemen is also a hotbed for al Qaeda, and the Islamic terrorists just released will likely rejoin other terrorists in the field, including the released US detainee who now heads up al Qaeda in Yemen.
