How many times do we hear reports like this and yet people still take items that could trigger a massive emergency response? Someone decided that carrying items that look like grenades on board a JetBlue plane was a good idea.
Wrong.
It caused JetBlue to evacuate the terminal while the items were investigated.
It turns out that the items were replica paperweight grenades.
Every year, the TSA and airlines confiscate thousands of items that are prohibited, including knives longer than four inches, swords, firearms, and a whole litany of other items.
These kinds of items can cause flight delays, cancellations, and costs the airlines and TSA. The airlines and TSA have to treat every incident as though these kinds of items are real and that means evacuations and strong emergency response.
