And Again: Another Jerusalem Terror Attack

A terrorist got his hands on a front end loader from a Jerusalem construction site and attempted to overturn a bus and rammed cars, before he was killed by security forces.
The bulldozer reportedly left a construction site near Yemin Moshe near King David Street, crashed into a city bus and hit two cars, wounding one person seriously and several more lightly.

The wounded were evacuated to Sha'are Tzedek Hospital in the capital.

According to initial reports, the driver was first shot by a civilian, but continued his attack before he was shot dead by border policemen.
This is a developing story, but apparently, the attack occurred down the street from the hotel where Sen. Barack Obama was due to stay when visiting Israel later this week.

At least 11 people were injured.

Meanwhile, there are additional reports that Hamas is taking full advantage of the "lull" in violence, regrouping and rearming with longer range weapons that are capable of hitting deeper into Israel.

UPDATE:
18 injured. I suspect that the location of the attack and its proximity to the King David Hotel, where Sen. Barack Obama was expected to stay while in Israel, are coincidental. The attacker somehow obtained the front end loader from a nearby construction site.

Aussie Dave at Israellycool is liveblogging the developing situation.

UPDATE:
Debka has more on the terrorist, and surprise of surprises, he's related to a Hamas thug (HT: rlevitin at LGF).
A quick-thinking passing civilian and a border guard officer shot the driver dead Tuesday, July 22, after two vehicles and a bus were rammed opposite the Liberty Bell Park, 200 yards from King David Hotel where UK premier Brown stayed Monday. At least 18 people were hurt, one seriously. Two are children.

The bulldozer burst out of a nearby building site in Yemin Moshe.

The terrorist was Ghassen Abu Tir from Umm Tuba, a Palestinian village in southeast Jerusalem, who was employed at the building site. He was a relative of Muhammed Abu Tir, a Hamas lawmaker held in an Israeli jail.
So, despite this guy having a job and getting paid for his employ at an Israeli work site, he decided to rampage through the streets and try to kill as many people as possible.

It's the Hamas way.
