Happy Birthday Israel

This month marks the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Jewish State of Israel. It was born under fire and threats of throwing Jews into the sea, and through it all, Israel has survived.

Trust me when I say this, Israelis would much rather spend time at the beach working their tan, creating new technologies or medical advances, or building the economy than serving in the military, but that service is critical to the nation's continued survival in the face of the ongoing existential threat posed by Palestinians who refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist and terror regimes who make daily threats against Israel threatening Armageddon and genocide.

Israel has had to fight every step of the way to make it to it's 60th anniversary, and it's a fight worth fighting. More than 22,000 Israelis have given their lives so that Israel can live on.

The terrorists resist at every turn and the media willingly spins for Palestinian propagandists undermining Israel's standing. Israel's own resolve is continually tested, its leadership wanting, and it's restraint against incessant attacks by terrorists are considered to be a sign of weakness to be exploited by terrorists.

Through it all, Israel has not only survived, but thrived in a region that sorely seeks its destruction and is angered and resentful of Israel's successes while the Arab countries in the region can't come up with a single technological achievement of their own that they haven't begged, borrowed, or stolen from someone else (suicide bombers - those the Arab regimes can have for themselves).

President Bush
will be in Israel to celebrate the anniversary on May 18 as part of his second sweep through the region this year.
