Investigating New 9/11 Terror Threats

Federal counterterrorism officials are analyzing a posting on an Islamic forum Web site that warns of "a special gift" to be given on the sixth anniversary of Sept. 11, FOX News has learned.

The warning was posted Sept. 2 on a site frequented by radical groups and said in part that "there will be a special gift coming on the day of the blessed invasion of Manhattan."

Federal officials told FOX News they are trying to determine if it might be a specific warning or just part of broad chatter that has been heard during the last few months.

Postings talking about "gifts" have been seen before in the days leading up to the anniversary of Sept. 11.
The Islamists, and al Qaeda in particular, have sought to build upon what they did on 9/11 in 2001, and have been thwarted thus far. Several plots have been disrupted that would have caused mass casualty attacks, including one that would destroy the PATH system into the WTC complex, where the Freedom Tower, and other buildings are under construction.

The Islamists have repeatedly targeted New York City and the WTC complex since 1993, and it will remain a high visibility target for the Islamic terrorists.

At this point, there's no way to know whether the German and Danish disruption of terror plots in Europe had anything to do with the Islamists' plans. The timing is curious.
