Gun battles erupted in the Gaza Strip on Thursday between Hamas gunmen and security forces loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and at least six people were wounded in the violence that tested a 3-day-old ceasefire.UPDATE:
Local residents said it was the fiercest fighting in the territory since the truce went into effect early on Tuesday.
A total of six have been killed so far today, and the body count is surely going to increase. Yet more assassination attempts were made, and the fighting has intensified. Hamas hijacked a Fatah convoy, sparking the latest fighting. Not to be left out, the terrorist group Islamic Jihad is riding to the rescue calling for yet another ceasefire so that all the sides can agree that the true purpose of the Palestinian terrorists is not to kill each other, but to kill Israelis instead.
