Guatemala or Venezuela. That's the question. The United Nations Security Council needs a new member, and that's the choice. First country to 128 votes wins the right to sit on the Security Council for the next two years.
The last round of voting resulted in Guatemala having 110 votes to Venezuela's 77. There were nine prior rounds of voting, and it whittled the choices down to these two.
Anyone want Venezuela to sit on the already ineffectual Security Council? Me neither.
Hugo Chavez doesn't need any more attention. He needs a time-out in a corner.
