Updating Coulter Plagarism Claim Kerfuffle

The distributor of Ann Coulter's columns cleared the blond political bomb-thrower of plagiarism charges yesterday, saying it finds "no merit" to allegations recently raised by a software company that analyzed her hardball writings.
The Universal Press Syndicate, which distributes the conservative Coulter's columns to more than 100 newspapers, said in a statement that at the request of The Post, it reviewed the charges recently brought by John Barrie of the company IParadigm and found no basis to fire her.

"Universal Press Syndicate finds no merits to the allegations of plagiarism brought by the software company executive," said syndicate president Lee Salem.

"Universal Press Syndicate is confident in the ability of Ms. Coulter, an attorney and media target, to know when to make attribution and when not to," he added.
One has to wonder how many additional copies of her books were sold as a result of these claims against her. Her outrageous statements help her sell books, and they've done a pretty good job at that (#12 on Amazon.com and 157 overall on Barnes & Noble.)

So, will this stop the claims of plagarism against Coulter? Not likely. She's a highly visible target and someone will try to knock her down.
