Palestinian Civil War Watch

The fighting continues between Hamas and Fatah with a Fatah security chief killed in a bombing, and we're seeing defections from one terrorist group to another.
More than 1,000 Fatah dissidents marched through Gaza City declaring their allegiance to a rival Hamas security force, two days after deadly clashes between the Palestinian factions.

“We are with the Hamas government standing against corruption,” the demonstrators shouted.

Marching in formation, stomping feet and swinging arms, the militants fired into the air and shouted religious slogans.

“What’s your goal?” shouted a leader. “Allah,” responded the marching soldiers. “What’s your path?” “Jihad,” a thousand voices responded in unison.
What do those jihadis know that Fatah doesn't? Fatah still has greater numbers overall, but Gaza is overwhelmingly in Hamas' corner.

In one respect, however, this further confirms that the rank and file jihadis care little about which terror group they work for - the fungible nature of the jihadis. It's why the triangulation system utilized by Fatah for the past decade was such a charade. It offered plausible deniability for Fatah operating as head of the Palestinian Authority all while its own jihadis were busy working on terrorist attacks - often in conjunction with Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad or Hizbullah.

In another respect, it suggests that Hamas is gaining the upper hand and the rats are fleeing a sinking ship.
