Moussaoui Was To Hijack Fifth Plane on 9/11?

As per Drudge:
Zacarais Moussaoui testifies that he and shoe-bomber Richard Reid were to hijack a fifth airplane on Sept. 11, 2001, and fly it into the White House.

Definitely more to come.

UPDATE:
Via AP:
Moussaoui's testimony on his own behalf stunned the courtroom as he disclosed details he had never revealed before. It was in stark contrast to Moussaoui's previous statements in which he said the White House attack was to come later if the United States refused to release a radical Egyptian sheik imprisoned on earlier terrorist convictions.

Moussaoui testified Monday he lied to investigators when arrested in August 2001 because he wanted to let the attacks of Sept. 11 go forward.

"Yes, you can say that," Moussaoui said when the prosecution asked if that was why he misled them. The statement was key to the government's case that the attacks might have been averted if Moussaoui had been more cooperative following his arrest.

He told the court he knew the attacks were coming some time after August 2001 and bought a radio so he could hear them unfold.

Specifically, he said he knew the World Trade Center was going to be attacked, but asserted he was not part of the plot and didn't know the details.
Is any of this testimony trustworthy? Who's to know what is in Moussaoui's black heart, but he definitely sought to carry out terrorist attacks against this country. The problem for the prosecution is that they need to tie him to the 9/11 attacks. Moussaoui's statements may have done the trick for them, despite all their blunders two weeks ago.

UPDATE:
It's interesting that Moussaoui mentions shoe bomber Richard Reid in his testimony. It's also interesting that Moussaoui's defense attorneys tried to keep him from testifying:
Before he took the stand, his lawyers made a last attempt to stop him from testifying, but failed. Defense attorney Gerald Zerkin argued that his client would not be a competent witness because he has contempt for the court, only recognizes Islamic law and therefore ''the affirmation he undertakes would be meaningless.''
That's rather curious. Moussaoui's defense counsel thinks that his religious beliefs would make him incompetent?

Instapundit makes some observations, and I'm sure we'll see reaction begin to come in on what Moussaoui has stated in open court, and its implications.

UPDATE:
Confederate Yankee and JunkYard Blog both look at Moussaoui's testimony and fits it in to what we know or suspect about the intended target of Flight 93 on 9/11. If Moussaoui's fifth flight intended to target the White House, it increases the likelyhood that the hijackers of Flight 93 intended to hit the Capitol building.

Others blogging the Moussaoui testimony: Ace of Spades, Right Wing Nation, Say Anything, and AJ Strata wonders why the surprise at the realization that Moussaoui was a 9/11 hijacker. Maybe because people didn't quite expect Moussaoui to disregard his lawyer's admonishments about testifying, and would actually proclaim his part in the terrorist attack on 9/11. It is nonetheless jarring to hear him openly state his role in the attack, such as it was.

UPDATE:
The Moussaoui outburst in court continues to generate commentary online. Others blogging: Gina Cobb, NewsHog wonders if Moussaoui has given up the will to live but I think it's his play at martyrdom, and Gates of Vienna discusses the Moussaoui paradox - namely that all cretins are liars.
