Clarity of Purpose

Is the port administration transfer deal yet another test of the Administration's faithful following's commitment to the Administration? Or just letting Democrats and RINOs spin themselves into a corner?

It's a rather dangerous game that the Administration plays on an all too frequent basis - they appear to gather strength and clarity of purpose when in crisis mode. While this is a trait common among many Administrations, where routine daily events can sometimes overwhelm but a crisis forces one to focus on a given issue, this Administration seems to thrive on creating crises when none exist or make difficult situations worse in order to come to arrive at a better solution. I don't think anyone is that sophisticated or have the foresight to know how a particular situation will turn out, so Occam's Razor would suggest that the port deal was poorly arranged and handled.

Two examples that come to mind are the Harriet Miers nomination and the port deal. Neither was handled very well, riled the President's core groups, and in the former incident, the President ended up nominating a better qualified candidate for the Supreme Court. That Alito was eventually nominated and confirmed may have been a matter of luck, not political skill. It remains to be seen if that's the case with the port deal.
