In the first nine months of 2005, 219 Palestinians died at the hands of fellow Palestinians, compared with 218 deaths in conflicts with Israeli security forces, the Palestinian Interior Ministry said.Sorry, but I don't buy these figures in the slightest bit. Can we get a fact check on aisle six?
More than 4,000 Palestinians and Israelis have been killed since the Palestinian uprising began at the end of 2000.
But Arab-vs.-Arab violence has escalated in the Gaza Strip — and the ministry blamed the terrorist Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade.
Gaza City's Al-Azhar University remained closed yesterday after 20 brigade-linked gunmen stormed the office of its president, Adnan al-Khaldi and beat him and some of his aides on Wednesday.
Oh, and that part I put in bold about the al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade? That's one of the factions of Yasir Arafat's old PLO (Arafat remains in stable condition after dying in a Paris Hospital). They're the bad-asses among the Fatah folks. Who happen to be the ones in control of the Palestinian Authority, much to the chagrin of the Hamas and Hizbullah supporters.
