Factchecking in Aisle Six

I have a question to any of my regular readers or milbloggers who happen to know this sort of information:

What kinds of helicopters were used in the course of the search and recovery efforts in and around New Orleans by the US military and Coast Guard?

The reason I ask? Simple. I found a throwaway line in a New York Times article on deaths at New Orleans area medical facilities that piqued my interest:
As military helicopters equipped with seats, not stretchers, ferried healthy adults to safety, patients awaiting evacuation died, hospital staff members said.
Somehow this strikes me as odd considering that many US helicopters are multipurpose, like the UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-46 Sea Knight, or the HH-65 Sea Dolphin. Just how accurate is this particular statement? I know that many aircraft have attachment points to permit litters, so the question is whether they were used, or is the Times throwing yet more flack at the US military.
