The US is airlifting a detachment of Rwandans to begin a peacekeeping tour in Dafur, Sudan. That's right, the US, which the media loves to complain isn't doing enough, is airlifting a detachment of Rwandan soldiers to assist in peacekeeping.
The Rwandans have come a long way since their own chapter of genocide more than a decade ago.
The media? Not so much. They still don't think that genocide is a subject worth covering.
UPDATE:
Sec. of State Rice is in Sudan pressing the case for improving the situation in Dafur. Her staff appears to have been harassed by the Sudanese as her and her group prepared to head towards Dafur to see the situation for herself. The NYT buries this particular story well within the paper. Curious.
