Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT) is dead. The asinine policy ended just after midnight this morning.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
There are some folks who are still opposed to this and think that this will somehow alter the readiness of the military or that it will undermine unit cohesion or otherwise lessen the capabilities of the military, but I think it will have the opposite effect.
And the military will be operating as it did 24 hours ago, and it issued a notice to that effect, except that some people who might have not considered a military career will now get that option without fear or consequences of their sexual orientation.
That's a good thing.
