NYTimes: Weiner to Enter Treatment Center and Seek Leave From House. There's a way to handle a scandal, and it'd be the opposite of how NY Democrat Anthony Weiner has done things. He should have immediately copped to the sexting and in admitting the problem sought treatment immediately.
He would have ended the news cycle, limited the damage to his career and allowed the story to stop being a punch line.
The way he did it, he not only maximizes the damage, but today's announcement is the wrong time.
