Joran van der Sloot has apparently confessed to the murder of a Peruvian woman, Stephany Flores Ramirez, after a night of drinking and gambling when the woman found stories online about van der Sloot's history and his suspected involvement in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Van der Sloot didn't like it when she intruded on his "private affairs". It turns out that Flores was murdered five years to the day from Holloway's disappareance.
Flores' father believes that van der Sloot's laptop may contain details about his life and whereabouts, including possible victims elsewhere in the world. I think that latter part is speculation, but van der Sloot was a key suspect in Holloway's disappearance and is now facing charges in Alabama for attempting to extort $250,000 for information on the whereabouts of Holloway's remains.
