The latest book on my nightstand is George Washington Bridge; Poetry In Steel by Michael Aaron Rockland, which goes into the history of the bridge in the context of society, culture, and art.
Among the tidbits is a reference to the song George Washington Bridge, which may have started on Sesame Street, but which may have been improvised by parents trying to keep their kids calm while traversing the span in traffic. This is a pretty fast paced book that would be a perfect stocking stuffer for a history buff or someone fascinated by bridges and infrastructure or New York City.
