Nice Precondition

The Palestinian Authority, which has thrown away every opportunity presented to it to make peace with Israel because of choosing jihad and terrorism, has thrown a monkey wrench into the diplomats' plans. It certainly should severely undercut President Obama's plans for a peace process.

They demand that Israel must repartition Jerusalem before any talks proceed. In fact, they say that until Jerusalem comes under Palestinian control, the jihad against Israel will continue.
According to the report, a document adopted by the Fatah delegates of the assembly declared that Palestinians would "continue to be sacrificed until residents of Jerusalem are free of settlements and settlers." The document went on to state that all of Jerusalem, including the surrounding villages, belonged to the Palestinians, and lands conquered following the Six Day War shared the same status as those located within the Green Line.

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz blasted the statement Saturday, saying that the declaration was a clear message to all those who maintained the "illusion that the Palestinians were prepared for compromise," Israel Radio reported.
Those that have followed the situation in the Middle East know that the Palestinians have never given up their war against Israel's existence. The terrorist groups, Fatah and Hamas, refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist, let alone as a Jewish state, and instead seek hudnas (truces) in which to regroup and rearm for the next stage of the conflict.

In fact, this latest statement from Fatah shows that they don't accept Israel in any form, whether it was the 1948 border or the post-1967 border. They consider Israel illegitimate.

That's the message from Mahmoud Abbas' organization. Abbas got reelected handily. This is with whom Israel is supposed to negotiate with in good faith? At least Hamas is honest about their intentions to destroy Israel. Fatah hopes to deceive through duplicitous language and statements in English that say one thing, and quite another in Arabic.

We've already seen reports that Hamas has been instituting an Islamist state in Gaza, which Israel vacated unilaterally in 2005. Hizbullah is stockpiling weapons in Southern Lebanon for striking at Israel when the time is right.

Meanwhile, Iran continues to direct Hamas to undermine Fatah, including telling them to detain and delay Fatah representatives seeking to meet at the Fatah confab in Bethlehem.
