If people want to understand why the US Postal Service is in trouble, look no further than this craziness. I am a resident in Radburn, New Jersey, and the Radburn Association sends out regular mailings through the Radburn post office.
Well, at least they used to do so.
Now, for some reason that makes absolutely no sense from a financial or logistical perspective, the Association must now take the mailings to a Paramus post office, from which they are sent to Teterboro for processing, and then sent to Radburn for delivery to residents.
This adds several days of time in which these mailings are delivered, and has forced the Association to take measures to accommodate the Post Office's changes.
Instead of simply taking the items and distributing them directly from Radburn, we get a rigmarole that ends up wasting resources, energy and time.
I can only hope that the Post Office reverses its decision, but this is the Post Office we're talking about.
