Corzine Selects Lt. Governor For November's Run

State Senator Loretta Weinberg. Come on down. You're Governor Jon Corzine's last best hope to hold on to the governorship in New Jersey.

How did I find out? It wasn't the report from the Record or the Star Ledger.

Nope. It was an out-of-state robocall with Corzine speaking about his selection and a meeting tomorrow to officially announce the pick in Engelwood.

The number came from a 310 area code, putting it in Santa Monica, California.

You mean to tell me that Corzine couldn't find a New Jersey firm with which to make this announcement? Seriously?

Also, Corzine hopes that Weinberg's reformist tendencies in Bergen County will somehow inure Corzine with votes in Bergen County.

Good luck with that. Corzine is going to sink or swim on his own dismal record of achievement in New Jersey. Pitiful state budgets that utilize gimmicks, failing to pay pension obligations to fully fund the state pension in order to balance the current fiscal year budget, raising taxes and fees, all while reducing the so called property tax relief that was supposed to be fully funded from the sales and use tax hike he obtained precisely to provide tax relief.
