Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, battered by charges in the N.J. corruption scandal, is expected to announce his resignation Friday, a report in PolitickerNJ said. The Hoboken Democrat joins fellow Democrat Dennis Elwell on the resignation list from the massive corruption bust last week.
Council President Dawn Zimmer, who lost a June 10 runoff to Cammarano, will become the Acting Mayor, and a special election will be held in November to fill the remainder of Cammarano's term, the report said.
