NYS Assemblyman Felix Ortiz (D-Bronx) is hoping to find tax revenues under the pasties and poles of strip clubs. He's hoping to get the Legislature on board with a $10 pole tax on customers.
He's claiming that the tax would be used to help victims of human trafficking, but it really is just another way to nickel and dime New York taxpayers.
Last year, a Texas judge found a $5 pole tax unconstitutional.
Somehow, I don't think that the legislature will go along with Ortiz. Albany area bigwigs are rather fond of Albany strip clubs like DiCarlos.
