Al Gore Has Gone Off The Rails

Al Gore, champion of the zero-growth eco-leftists, now wants people to engage in civil disobedience to prevent the construction of coal plants.
"If you're a young person looking at the future of this planet and looking at what is being done right now, and not done, I believe we have reached the stage where it is time for civil disobedience to prevent the construction of new coal plants that do not have carbon capture and sequestration," Gore told the Clinton Global Initiative gathering to loud applause.

"I believe for a carbon company to spend money convincing the stock-buying public that the risk from the global climate crisis is not that great represents a form of stock fraud because they are misrepresenting a material fact," he said. "I hope these state attorney generals around the country will take some action on that."

The government says about 28 coal plants are under construction in the United States. Another 20 projects have permits or are near the start of construction.
Gore gave this speech in New York. Gore lives in Tennessee. How about saving the environment by stopping the jet-setting ways and teleconferencing instead. Think of all the emissions just to attend in person. If the environment is in as dire shape as he claims, start doing your part.

Instead, we hear about how Gore travels around the nation and the world claiming that global warming is inevitable unless people act and stop building power facilities that run the global economy. Of course, Gore's proselytizing means only one thing - increased costs for energy that will be passed on to rate payers? I know you can.

Tithing, or giving carbon credits, just shifts around a bunch of money, and doesn't actually reduce carbon emissions one iota.

Meanwhile, what exactly is a carbon company? Every company on the planet relies on carbon and carbon emissions. In fact, every person relies on carbon. We are carbon based life forms, and it's an integral part of every facet of the planet's ecosystem and habitat. I figure he's referring to oil, gas, and coal companies, who provide the backbone of the planet's energy and chemical, industrial, and manufacturing needs. Gore seeks nothing less than the monetization practically every transaction on the planet using junk science and bad law to push forward an extremist agenda that bears no rational relationship to what scientists are actually observing. Indeed, even as NASA was trying to minimize the role the sun plays in global climate change, they had to admit that they barely understand the various cycles that have been observed in solar output.

Meanwhile, where exactly is the nation supposed to get the power to run all those electric cars that are being touted to save the environment? Wind power is still years off in the future, if at all with the way some states are dragging their feet and demonstrably blocking any efforts to site wind power projects in the state.
