Doing the Job the Media Wont Do

Don Surber gives Obama's speech the once over, and finds more than a few faults with the history and facts.

Tigerhawk takes Obama to task for lying about his global warming and climate change portion, and supports his assertions with charts and graphs showing that Obama lied and exaggerated to great effect.

It would be nice to see the media do this, but they're frankly too engrossed in the halo to notice that it's nothing but a strategically positioned kleig light that is supposed to blind the clueless and incurious.

UPDATE:
Stop the ACLU points out a factual problem with another part of Obama's speech:
Obama claims that the walls built to separate Protestant from Catholic have come down in Belfast. Well, in fact, they have not. In reality MORE ARE BEING BUILT all the time.

As a May 5th USA Today story chronicles, “Ten years after peace was declared in Northern Ireland, one might have expected that Belfast’s barriers would be torn down by now. But reality, as usual, is far messier. Not one has been dismantled. Instead they’ve grown in both size and number.”
So much for tearing down the walls of Obama's ignorance or blatant disregard of facts.

Obama got the story of the Berlin Airlift all wrong too. You would think that a prepared speech on the world stage would be checked for blatant misrepresentations and lies? Perhaps Obama's own staff believes its own hype.
