The Associated Press has done this before, and it continues to do so. The media outlets that comprise its customers don't appear to be all that concerned that the AP provides bogus stories that are little more than propaganda for terrorists and insurgents.
Even after claiming that they strive not to mislead their readers, they do so early and often.
Gateway Pundit notes that the AP was busy pushing a story that seven Shiite pilgrims were massacred along the side of a road.
It got significant press.
Except there's no proof that the massacre ever occurred.
Will the corrections receive the same kind of prominence as the original story?
There's still violence to worry about in Iraq without having to push bogus stories.
