So, Lou Dobbs has squashed rumors that he would throw his hat in the ring to run for the Governor of New Jersey.
On the one hand, he would have been better than any of the following: Jon Corzine, Jim McGreevey, Christie Todd Whitman, and Jim Florio. Still, this is Lou Dobbs we're talking about, and his experience relating to how to manage a state that is a cesspool of corruption and is a fiscal mess, is that he talks about business on cable news.
The biggest problem for Republicans in New Jersey is that Democrats hold a 2-1 edge in voters, so they'd have to have some serious backing to make it happen. That's why you've seen wealth GOPers like Doug Forrester run for office and fail miserably.
The GOP is hoping that U.S. Attorney Christopher Christie jumps in to the race, though I don't think he's got the name recognition to win.
