The Rumor Mill

The last couple of days have seen rumors of impending video releases that would devastate the Obama campaign. Thus far, we've gotten mealy mouth nonsensical claims from an ex-CIA hack who also happens to be in the tank for the Clinton campaign, Larry Johnson.

Now, we get a similar claim from Bob Beckel and Roger Stone who claim that there's a videotape showing Michelle Obama engaged in a racist rant and that the GOP and Hillary's campaign are both in a race to get it.

It's my belief that there's no videotape floating around that purports to do what they say, and I'd give any such rumors the 24-hour rule.

That's why I've been so reluctant to even post on it because of who had been peddling the claims (Johnson, who claimed to have proof that Karl Rove was being indicted).

Then again, given what we've come to learn about the Trinity Church, Obama's ministers and associations, nothing should surprise me. I just don't think that Hillary would ever have let this wait until the bitter end to come out especially as she needed a big boost before the DNC met over the weekend, not after they made their decision.

UPDATE:
I "fixed" the link to the Beckel story as my original link went to another post by error. Curiously, the Fox News link no longer works, so something must be up there that they're walking back and away from assertions that a story is about to break? I'm not alone in noting this change on the Fox website, but as Beckel said this on air, one has to wonder why they deleted the post.

UPDATE:
Still more rumors, including one peddled by none other than the AP claiming that Hillary will concede the race today, even as her key advisers are saying otherwise.
