Academy Award Nominations Made But Does Anyone Care?

After the Golden Globes went missing in action as a result of the WGA strike, is anyone outside of Hollywood actually following the nominations or looking forward to the Academy Awards show (if there even is one?)

Of the movies up for awards, I can say that I've seen only one:

Ratatouille.

That's it. I haven't seen any of the best picture nominees. I don't think I have any interest in seeing them either. I've heard that Atonement is pretty good as is Sweeney Todd. Okay. Fine. I like Johnny Depp's acting chops, so if he wins fine. If Daniel Day Lewis wins I wouldn't be shocked.

I guess there was one surprise though - an Israeli movie, Beaufort, got chosen as a Best Foreign Film nominee.
