Restaurant Review: Mediterraneo

This Ridgewood BYO across the street from the train station is a favorite of mine. By the crowds for dinner, I'm not alone in that view. It's a small place, so make your reservations in advance.

The fare is thoroughly Mediterranean, with a tip of the hat to Spanish, Greek, Turkish, and Israeli fare. Dinner plates are plentiful, but if you want a real treat, go for the tapas preparations - combine three and you've got yourself a full meal. If you're in a sharing mood, a bunch of tapas will let your palate wander up and down the Med with a variety of flavorful entries.

Prices are reasonable for Ridgewood.

The Bergen Record wrote up Mediterraneo a while back, and they found the main drawback was the wait staff, but that wasn't a problem with our last visit as the staff was quite helpful and timely in their service.
