Memo to Hollywood

Anyone check out the weekend box office.

Notice anything interesting? How about how all those anti-war flicks that were released in the past few weeks? Gone. In about 60 seconds.

Also missing - Jonathan Demme's homage to Jimmy Carter. That epic piece of agitprop had extremely disappointing per screen numbers. Heh.

Can you say that people are fed up with crappy movies and/or ones that hit you over the head like so many baby seals to heel to Hollyweird's point of view?

I knew you could.

The full chart is here.

To me, it's telling that a re-release of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is doing better than so many first run movies. It's per-screen average take is superior to that of many of the other movies in the theaters.

That's quite telling.
