Good Journalism

I will slam media outlets when necessary, but I'll also give them credit when they do a good job reporting.

This is one of those good job stories.
A former Democratic state assemblyman who was among 11 public officials arrested last month on federal bribe-taking charges was scheduled to be in federal court Friday.

The U.S. Attorney's Office declined to comment on the proceedings against Alfred E. Steele before the hearing.

Steele was arrested on Sept. 6 for allegedly accepting $14,000 between March and August to influence the awarding of insurance and roofing contracts.

Party affiliation is covered in the first paragraph along with key details. That's how it should be.
