Dishonesty in Action: Media Coverage of Limbaugh's Auction

This is yet another example of why the media outlets like the NYT, AP, and all the rest are in such trouble.

They can't be bothered to report the facts of the situation objectively. Instead, they have to skew, inject bias, and actually omit key details to make the Democrats who signed that reprehensible letter come out better than they otherwise should have.

Headline writers throughout the big media outlets left out key details, including that Rush would match the $2.1+ million winning bid submitted by Ms. Betty Casey. The total amount to be donated to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation is over $4.2 million, not $2.1 million.

The New York Times can't be bothered to get its facts right about the segment on the Rush Limbaugh segment that got things started, nor the letter that was written by the 41 Democrats, led by Sen. Harry Reid.

ABC News completely goes in the tank for the Democrats, and botches the actual mission of the charity, which is non-partisan and serves the families of law enforcement and the US Marine Corps.

These aren't simply random mistakes. All these errors and omissions flow in one direction.

It's absolutely reprehensible that the media does this, but since the editors in those outlets aren't injecting objectivity into these articles, it goes to their overall bias against all things on the right side of the political spectrum. And unless consumers of these media outlets know any better, or read more than the headlines, they wouldn't understand how in the tank these outlets are for the Democrats and how those 41 Senators used and abused their position of power to try and silence a private citizen.
