Iran's War Against West Gets Active?

How does Iran spell border with Iraq? Apparently, it's spelled mine.

Iranian invasions, catch the wave.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday.

Britain's defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on "intelligence matters".

An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: "It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran -- but nobody has officially declared it."

"We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot."
Full on war but it hasn't been officially declared? Sorry, but Iran did declare it - and they're not bothering with informing the US and the West in the usual way. They're just doing it.

And the US and UK are not in a position to do anything about it because of domestic concerns back home and opposition to the war - this despite the fact that the situation in Iraq was being stabilized by the Iraqis and the surge has been working. The problem now is that the Iranians are engaging in a surge of their own. These incursions must be dealt with forcefully and vigorously. Iran cannot be allowed to continually violate Iraq's territorial integrity.

UPDATE:
So, while reports are circulating about how British troops are spotting Iranian forces crossing the border into Iraq and are not able to take action, the brainiacs at the Home Office are busy worrying about preparing the British army for global warming.
Global warming is such a threat to security that military planners must build it into their calculations, the head of the armed forces said on Monday.

Jock Stirrup, chief of the defence staff, said risks that climate change could cause weakened states to disintegrate and produce major humanitarian disasters or exploitation by armed groups had to become a feature of military planning.
Great. Just great. Nice to have your priorities straight.

UPDATE 6/27/2007:
Confederate Yankee did some digging around and notes that there really isn't anything to confirm Iranians crossing the border, though there have been an uptick in EFPs discovered of late. So, unless there are other means to confirm the story, it would appear to be bunk.
