Blackberry Blackout

People who rely on Blackberries to keep in touch with their offices, customers, and clients, were hit by a major failure of the Research in Motion system shut down service overnight.
NewsChannel 4 learned of a massive system failure that affected all BlackBerry users in the western hemisphere late Tuesday.

The RIM Company, which stands for Research In Motion, developed BlackBerry technology and said its infrastructure failed around 8 p.m. Tuesday and was until about 7 a.m. Wenesday.
The company is hoping to get service back to normal during the course of the day today, but warned that the system could be overloaded with backlogged emails.
