Obama Makes It Official

Senator Barack Obama of Illinois has made it official. He's running for President. Good luck with that.

Obama is one of the better speakers among Democrats. That counts for a lot. The ability to get a message across is quite helpful in politics. However, what exactly is he trying to say? Does it resonate with people? On that, he fails to convince.

His lack of leadership experience is another point against him, though there are few in the current field on either side of the aisle who can actually demonstrate leadership qualities. Most Senators are not leaders, but rather followers - they stick their finger in the wind and follow which way the wind blows.

Even those Senators who are considered leaders by the press and fellow members of Congress aren't leaders in that they haven't led much of anything. It's a failing common to legislators who sit around and caucus for positions. Executives have an advantage in this area.
